Maska Plus

The Golden Mask non-competition programme Maska Plus was initiated in 2009 and since then has been part of the Golden Mask Festival. Maska Plus complements the main festival programme, expanding its boundaries and presenting to the audience and theatre professionals a range of innovative productions from Russian cities. The programme is selected by theatre critics and experts.
Alongside local theatre productions, Maska Plus regularly presented foreign performances. In 2009 the first Maska Plus edition included performances from the Baltic and CIS countries. In the following years the projects’ geography expanded, and in the period of 2009 - 2015 the project presented theatre companies from 14 countries, including Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Moldova, Israel, England, USA and Slovakia.
